At the heart of SHD Coaching is our founder and head coach, a passionate cricketer and experienced mentor with a remarkable playing and coaching journey.
From a young age, he demonstrated exceptional leadership and cricketing talent, captaining his school teams at Under-13, Under-15, Under-16, and Under-19 levels. His dedication and skill earned him selection to represent Sri Lanka at various youth levels, where he made a significant mark:
Played for Sri Lanka U15, U16, U17, and U19 County Cricket teams
Member of the Sri Lanka U16/17 national squad in 2003
Member of the Sri Lanka U19 national squad for 2005/2006
Represented Sri Lanka at the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2005/2006
Selected for the Sri Lanka Fast Bowling Academy in 2008/2009
Member of the Sri Lanka Development Team in 2008/2009
First-Class cricketer from 2005 to 2009
His playing career highlights include extensive domestic and international experience at youth and professional levels, showcasing his expertise especially in fast bowling.
Now, as an ECB Level 2 certified cricket coach, he brings his rich playing background and technical knowledge into every training session. He served as the Head Coach at Himley Cricket Club from 2021 to 2025 and is currently the Head Coach at Enville Cricket Club. Alongside these roles, he leads SHD Coaching and the SHD Bowling Academy, focusing on the all-round development of young cricketers across the West Midlands.
With a commitment to professionalism, individual growth, and a genuine passion for the game, he inspires the next generation to reach their full cricketing potential.
